Tenerife North

Puerto de la Cruz is one of the nicest areas of Tenerife. Situated in the North of the Island this lovely area is well worth a stay and more and more British visitors are returning to this forgotten resort.

Originally the main resort for the Island it has been a firm favourite with British visitors for over 30 years but over the past 2 decades younger visitors - now fully mature !! have travelled to the South and continued to return there each year due to its proximity to the main airport. However, many are now finding that the 60mins transfer time from Tenerife South Airport is well worth the effort and are returning to the North to rediscover its Canarian Charm and fantastic scenery.

 If you are looking for British bars, pub grub and tacky souvenirs then Puerto de la Cruz is not the resort for you !! However, if you are looking for a clean resort with a fantastic Lido area that stretches the length of the tree lined promenade, a fantastic range of shops including a good selection of designer shops. Good standard restaurants at very reasonable prices,a good range of accommodation that blends well within the environment and is realistically priced ,excellent scenery and of course the warm Tenerife weather then look no further than Puerto de La Cruz.

                                            

Tenerife South has 2 main resorts . Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas , approx 20 minutes from the airport these resorts attract visitors looking for a holiday resort that also offers a large variety of  restaurants serving up international cuisine and 'British food'. Karaoke bars and British pubs are very much in evidence but you will also find excellent restaurants serving local cuisine. Shops selling traditional souvenirs line the promanade that stretches from Los Cristianos to Fanabe.

There are many attractions in Tenerife South for those who choose this area of the island  for their holidays. It boasts a great number of hours of sunshine a year and excellent, golden, sandy beaches. Shows, water-sports and nature areas are other great reasons why you should visit this area.
